  • By default it keeps © ® ™ and normal punctuation; removing other decorative symbols needs an extra fine-tune option.
  • It only removes emoji characters — it does not rewrite tone or check for anything else in your text.

Frequently asked questions

Will it remove normal symbols like © or punctuation?
By default it removes emoji characters only and keeps © ® ™. There is an option to also strip decorative symbols if you need it.
Does it leave double spaces where emojis were?
You can pair it with the remove extra spaces option to tidy any gaps left behind.
Does it remove flag emojis and skin-tone modifiers?
Yes. Flags, skin-tone modifiers and the zero-width joiners used to combine emoji sequences are all removed along with the base emoji.
What about an emoji placed between two words, like a heart between two letters?
The emoji character is removed and the surrounding letters are kept as they were, with no extra space inserted.
Does removing emojis ever change the meaning of a sentence?
No. Only the emoji characters are deleted — the surrounding words and punctuation are left exactly as you wrote them.
Does it remove arrows or other symbols that aren't quite emoji?
No, not by default. Only characters in the emoji/pictograph range are removed. Plain symbols like arrows or math signs are left untouched unless you enable the option to also strip decorative symbols.
Does it leave a blank line if a whole line was just an emoji?
Yes. The emoji character is deleted, so a line that only contained emoji becomes an empty line rather than being removed automatically.
